8th November, Yancheng: Victor Emmanuel Agu snatched the first gld medal for Pasay City at the 31st Asian Intercity Bowling Championships after winning the Men's Senior division Singles event in his sixth and final game.

Veteran and seasoned campaigner of the Asian Intercity Bowling Championships, Dennis Ho of Paranaque set a blistering pace with 235 in his first game to take an 8-pin lead over Beijing's Zhu Yongqui and Hohnson Cheng of Paranaque in third.

Whilst Ho could only post 185 in his second game, Zhu took the opportunity to move into the lead with 203, 10 pins ahead of Ho. Cheng followed closely in third. Zhu added 204 and 211 in his next two games to continue to lead the field as Victor Emmanuel Agu and Ho trading second spot.

Meanwhile, Ho recovered with 225 and 213 in the fourth and fifth games to regain the lead as Zhu slipped 30 pins behind in second. Agu slipped to third as other front runners faded off.

Agu ended the strongest with 201 to snatch the gold medal with 1216. Zhu ws unable to better that to settle for the silver medal with 1208, just 8 pins adrift. Ho stumbled to a disasterous 148 and was unlucky to hang on to third for the bronze medal with 1199.

Yancheng's best finisher was Luo Junghua but missed the podium by 50 pins to take up fourth with 1149 while Teng Yaxiang of Shanghai rounded out the top five with 1147. Competition will shift to the Doubles event with the Men's division and the Women's Senior division divided into two squads this afternoon and evening.
