Subang Jaya tops Men's Singles

11th November, Jakarta: Ex-international and last year's Masters first runner-up, Muhad Nur Aiman Khairuddin of Subang Jaya topped the Men's Singles preliminary of the 37th Asian Intercity Bowling championship followed by Paolo Hernandez of Jakarta in second.

Malaysian national squad member and 2025 IBF World Cup Team gold medalist, Timmy Tan got off to a cracking start with the first 300 of the championship in his opening game and led Tsai Yu Shuo of Taichung and Paolo M. Hernandez of Jakarta sharing second spot with 278.

Yusuf Abdul Raof of Subang Jaya, Aldric Andreo Lasay Bathan of Paranaque and Muhammad Azizi Naim Jabar of Shah Alam all registered big games of 269, 259 and 258 to stay close to the leading duo. Tan managed only 209 after the perfect game and dropped down the field.

Tsai downed a superb 246 to take over the running. Bathan and Muhammad Azizi posted identical 257 to take up second and third respectively. Muhd Nur Aiman of Subang Jaya also added 267 to his 248 opener to tie with Muhammad Azizi.

Aiman almost shot a perfect game but settled for 299 to take over the lead. Paolo M. Hernandez posted a 300 after Muhd Nur Aiman missed his to trail in second, eight pins adrift. The leader ended with 203 for the top spot with 1017 total. Hernandez managed 199 to take up second position with 1005. Muhammad Azizi also managed 195 to clinch third position with 989 while Bathan shot a superb 257 to snatch the fourth and last spot of the medal round with 977.

Malaysians swept all top four spots in the Women's Singles preliminary. Newly-crowned Malaysian National champion, Faten Najihah Binti Ahmad Faik and National squad member, Anis Hannani Binti Romzi dominated with a one-two with 968 and 954.

Twins, Nurul Alyssa Junaidi and Nurul Ayunni Junaidi of Shah Alam finished third and fourth positions with 903 and 854 respectively making up the top four of the medal round.

Meanwhile, Yang Young Ja of Jeju earned top spot of the medal round in the Women's Senior Singles with 891 after a sizzling 267 in her fourth and final game. Felinda Grzybowska of Kuala Lumpur settled for second with 47 after setting the early pace.

Andieza Hanum Fanali of Jakarta took third spot with 815 and Salwa Binti Buang of Shah Alam secured the fourth and last position of the medal round with 813.

The top-seeds of each division will face the fourth-seeds and the second-seeds will square off with the third-seeds over one match to determine who would advance to the gold medal match, again over one game.


Women's Singles Top 4 medal round finalists

The winner of the final will be awarded the gold medal and the loser will take home the silver. The losing semi-finalists will earn a bronze medal each. Competition will shift to the Doubles event for all divisions over the four games preliminaries. Again the top 4 pairs will advance to the medal rounds.
