Michael Little, Liza Clutario tops Asian Zone ranking

14th November, Hong Kong:World Championship Masters Gold medalist Michael Little of Australia maintained his lead in the Men's Asian Zone ranking while Filipino lass Liza Clutario took over from teammate Liza del Rosario in the Women's table.


The 24 year-old Austrlian's win in the World Championship Masters event had eraned him 200 points and 80 each from the Singles and All Events giving him a total of 360 points to top the men's table.

Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong took over second spot with 311 points after earning 50 points from the Indonesia Open as 1st runnerup and 20 points for capturing the AVIVA Asian Bowling Tour Indonesia leg. Wu also accumulated 14 points from the Singapore Open and only 5 points from the ABT Singapore Ranking leg.

1999 World Cup Champion, Ahmed Shaheen from Qatar move up one spot to 3rd after scoring 50 points from the 4th Sinai Open in Egypt as well as points from Emir Cup, Bahrain Open, Arab Games and the 39th AMF World Cup.

Duane Camacho (GUAM-288), Mohd Khalifa Al-Qubaisi (UAE-265), Jason Belmonte (AUS-250), Azidi Ameran (MAS-219) and Saeed Al Hajri (QAT-211) are the current top 8 qualifiers for the World Ranking Masters 2004.


In the women's division, it's a straight fight between two Filipino lass. World Championship Masters Silver medalist, Liza Clutario regained the lead with 498 points from teammate, Liza del Rosario by 17 points while Malaysia's Shalin Zulkilfi maintained 3rd spot with 415 points. Clutario did well in the recnt Singapore Open and the ABT Singapore Ranking leg adding 26 points to her total.

Wendy Chai (MAS-334), Choy Poh Lai (MAS-320), Jennifer Tan (SIN-294), Cecilia Yap (PHI-263) and Lee Eun Ock (KOR-215) are the current top 8 in the women's ranking table.

There is only one more official international ranking tournament which is the 29th Hong Kong International Open to be held from Nov. 27 - Dec. 5 followed

by the AVIVA Asian Bowling Tour's 2003 final leg in Hong Kong on December 6 7, 2003. The top 8 men and women will join the top 8 men and women from American and European zones for the 2004 World Ranking Masters finals.
