25th May, Petaling Jaya: Singaporeans Rahim Kassim of Syntech and Cham Meng Soon ruled the Men's Senior Finals of the Kuala Lumpur International Open Bowling Championships 2025 underway at Sunway Megalanes with a one-two finish while Kamal Bin Mustapha of Malaysia took third spot.

Rahim got off to a cracking start with 235 and 225 in his two opening games but had pace-setter, Mohd Rafizan of Malaysia hot on his heels, 14 pins adrift. A poor 170 in the third game saw Mohd Rafizan narrowing tha gap to just three pins.

But the Singaporean bounced back with 222 and 216 in the fourth and fifth games to pull away into the lead. The Malaysian kept pace with Rahim with 196 and 220. The leader went on to seal the victory with 201 in his final game and a total of 1353.

His compatriot, Cham Meng Soon stormed home with 226 and 222 in the last two games to snatch second position with 1306. Kamal B Mustafa of Malaysia clinched third position with 1285 while Mohd Rafizan missed the podium in fourth position with 1282.

A third Singaporean, Andrew Fong of Syntech completed the top five with 1278. A total of 120 seniors contested the finals.
