Selangor bowler retains overall lead

28th October, Petaling Jaya: Wan Nadzmi Fikri of Selangor posted a massive 1515 in the second block to remain the overall leader of the qualifying rounds of the Kuala Lumpur International Bowling Classic 2025 with a 12-game total of 2805 earning a bye as top Men's Graded qualifier.

Wan Nadzmi posted 1290 in his first block and the 1515 in the second block to seal his spot. 36th Interstate Women Team gold medalist, Intan Qistina Binti Tamaring of PTBNS/Sabah topped Squad C with 2780 to become the top Women's Graded seeded qualifier.

Seasoned campaigner, Paiman Bin Dali of Syntech/Singapore also earned a bye for Round 3 finals as top Men's Senior seeded qualifier while Romahanum Hj Othman of Malaysia qualified as top Women's Senior with 2485.

Faiz Rayyan Bin Muhammad Aiman of Kuala Lumpur, who finished second to Intan Qistina, snatched the top Youth Boy's U18 qualifier spot with 2757. National Youth, Intan Nor Edryana Bt Nor Azliman of STBA qualified for Round 3 as top Youth Girls U18 with 2752.

Muhammad Zharfan Shahidi of Sunway Megalanes topped positions 7 to 12 qualifiers who will skip Round 2 and automatically advance to Round 3 with 2740. Recently-crowned Sarawak Open champion, Muhammad Aqil of PTBPP/Penang occupied 8th with 2731.

Squad B first block leader, Muhammad Fazrin of Perak, Muhammad Zulhazziq B Zulmazlan of WP SUKMA KL, Afi Darwisy Bin Shipol Ashar of STBA and Wan Syahmi Razin all advanced to Round 3 in 9th to 12th positions.

Reigning Malaysian Open champion and National youth, Ethan Damien Goh headed qualifiers positioned 13 to 60 for Round 2 finals with 2699. There is a tie in 60th position between Balqis Nurdini Bt Mohd Khairul of WP SUKMA KL and Puntep Bhayakporn of Thailand with 2508.

But Balqis Nurdini will qualify because she has a higher final game of 178 in the second block to the Thai's 142. The qualifiers will bowl 6 games in Round 2 finals where the top 28 will advance to Round 3 joined by the top 12 seeded qualifiers for another 8 games.
