11th September, Kuching: Megat Zaqrul Haiqal of FND Empire, Penang shot the sixth perfect game of the tournament en-route to regaining top spot in the Open Division overall qualifying standings of the Sarawak International Open Bowling Championships 2025 late Thursday evening.

Megat Zaqrul improved his second block with the 300 in his Joker squad taking his 8-game tally from 2019 to 2138 for the overall top spot. Squad C leader, Mohd Amirul Syafiq settled for second with 2075 while fifth perfect gamer, Muhammad Syazirol Shamsuddin of the National Podium squad occupied third position with 2020.

Top female, Nur Hazirah Ramli of the National squad and Sarawak, finished fourth with 2005 while Chinese Taipei's Cheng Shao-Hua rounded out the top five with 2000. Desmond Law Kwang Yew of Sarawak and Marcus Thian Li Feng of Singapore tied in 60th position and will have to contest a one-game tie-breaker roll-off to see who will qualify for the Masters finals.

Meanwhile, Mohd Amirul Syafiq also topped the Classified Division with 2075 followed by Cheng in second with 2000 and Marcos Chang Hao Hong of Malaysia in third with 1963. Overnight Classifies Division leader, Norman Fadhli of Sarawak suffered a poor second block and slipped down to 17th position.

The cut in 60th position went to Muhammad Adam Bin Pakhrurrazi with 1754 after the second Joker squad. Muhammad AMin Syimir Bin Safri of Malaysia missed the cut by two pins in 61st position.

Megat Zaqrul also regained the top spot of the 3DU Division with his 2098 total. Muhammad Syazirol nd Muhammad Danish Bin Mahmud of MMBC finished second and third. The cut in 60th position went to Claudia Kumang Anak Jakson of ABAS, Sarawak with 1778. Missing the cut by one pin was Balquis Nursini Binti Mohd Khairul with 1777.

The top 60 for each of the three divisions will contest their respective Masters finals over 8 games. The top 3 in the Classified Division will be declared the winners. The top 3 in the 3DU Division will proceed to the Stepladder Shootout finals to determine the winners.

The top 4 in the Open Division Masters finals will proceed to the "Last Man Standing" Stepladder Shootout finals to determine the winners. The champion of the Open Division and the Classified Division will pocket the top prize of RM20,000 each while the champion of the 3DU Division will earn RM8,000.
