1st August, Doha: Triple silver medalist, Huang Hsin-Tsen of Chinese Taipei hoped to end a losing streak with victory in the Girl's Masters event at the 24th Asian Junior Tenpin Bowling Championships after leading the first block ahead of four gold medalist, Qurratu 'Ain Pozi of Malaysia in second.
China's Shen Xuxi took an early lead after easily defeating Sharifah Askander of Kuwait, 230-159 in her opening match. Her compatriot and Singles silver medalist, Li Yiru (15) also beat team-mate, Sun Luming, 227-173 to take up second spot.
Li took over the running after she won five straight matches with 243, 189, 223, 212 and 184. Huang Hsin-Tsen trailed the Chinese from the second match until the seventh by taking over the lead as Li stumbled to a 163. Huang ended the first block with 181 for a total of 1699 to take top spot.
Four gold medalist, Qurratun 'Ain Pozi stormed home with a 238 win in her final match to snatch second spot with 1694, just five pins behind. Li ended with another low game of 157 to drop down to third with 1668.
