24th September, Tamuning: Taipei won their first gold medal of the 38th Asian Intercity Bowling Championship with victory in the Men Team of Four final while host city, Tamuning captured their first in the Men Senior Team of Four final.

Ken Lan Shao-Kang, Li Yu-Hung, Jake Cheng Hsing-Yueh and Ernie Cheng Hsing-Chao took the first match, 214-178 against second-seed, Tamuning. Tamuning's Noah Taimanglo, Cisco Uncangco, Jeremiah Camacho and Ray San Nicolas put in the a decent challenge in the early stage of the second match.

But it was the Taiwanese quartet who ended stronger winning the second match, 225-209 for the gold medal. Taipei sailed past fourth-seed, Tumon, 2-0 (194-192, 177-129) to advance to the gold medal round while Tamuning edged third-seed, Taichung, 2-0 (182-144, 164-162) to face Taipei.

Tamuning settled for the silver and Taichung and Tumon earned a bronze medal each. In the earlier 3-games preliminaries, Taipei topped the filed with 2604, 136 pins ahead of Tamuning in second with 2468. Taichung totaled 2427 to finish third while Tumon made the cut in fourth position with 2362.

In the Men Senior division, Ricky Duenas, Nixon Caasi, Dave Cruz and Albert Dela Cruz captured Tamuning's first gold of the championship with a victory over Pasay, 2-0 (177-175, 144-129) in the gold medal round. Tamuning struck in the one-ball tie-breaker against Dededo's 7 pin to win the semi-final match after tieing one-all (179-176, 149-202).

Pasay trashed top-seed Subang Jaya, 2-0 (200-163, 228-186) in the other semi-final match to advance to the final to face Tamuning. In the earlier 3-games preliminaries, Kent Ng, Gary Chan, Eddie Tong and Singles silver medalist, Ng Yew Hup topped the field with 2382.

Tamuning finished second with 2155 followed by Dededo in third with 2086. Pasay made the cut for the medal round in fourth position with 2067. Chen Kuan Lun topped the Men All Events standings with 2360 to give Taichung their third gold.

Ray San Nicolas captured his second silver medal after finishing second in the All Events standings with 2315. Singles gold medalist, Tsai Yu Shuo took home the bronze with 2312. Ng Yew Hup finally picked up his first gold by topping the Men Senior All Events standings with 2356.
