7th May, Taoyuan: Squad A leader, Dylam Lam, Jason Leung of Hong Kong, China and Squad B leader, Yoshinao Shimoji of Japan occupied the top three spots in the Open Division qualifying standings of the 3rd Formosa International Bowling Classic 2026 after the second block.

Lam, who trailed his team-mate, Leung in the first block, amassed a sizzling 1287 in his second block to take his 10-game tally to 2458 for pole position. Leung settled for second spot after a moderate 1149 second block for a total of 2446.

Shimoji also surpassed the 1200-mark in his second block to take his 10-game tally to 2365 for third position in the overseas pool. The top 3 will earn a bye and skip Round 1 finals to automatically to Round 2 finals on Sunday, May 10.

The top 3 spots for the local pool went to Chen Te Shuan in fourth with 2321, Squad D leader, Huang Yeh Wen with 2304 and Yen Shuo Lin in third with 2279. Similarly, the top 3 will also earn a bye and skip Round 1 finals to automatically to Round 2 finals.

Jovi Ma of Hong Kong, China headed the mixed pool with 2297 in seventh position followed by Ethan Damien Goh of Malaysia in eighth with 2295. Block 1 Squad B leader, Jeon Hae Min of Korea and first perfect-gamer, Hiroki Tachibana of Japan rounded out the top 10 tying with 2284.

The current cut in 50th position went to Chang Hsiang Yu of Chinese Taipei with 2094, averaging 209.4. Positions 7 to 50 (total 45 qualifiers) along with an additional 3 qualifiers from the one-game Desperado squad will contest Round 1 finals over 8 games from scratch.

The top 26 with the highest pinfalls will advance to Round 2 finals for another 8 games from scratch, joined by the six seeded qualifiers from the general standings. The top six at the end of Round 2 will proceed to the Stepladder Shootout finals on May 10.
