13th December, Bangkok: Seven nations from the South-East Asian region are all set for glory when the 33rd SEA Games Bowling Championships gets underway on Sunday at Blu-O Ryhtmn & Bowl, Ratchayothin.

Team officials from Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and host, Thailand met at the managers' meeting held at the Major Ratchayothin Complex confirming their players for the games which will be held from December 13 to 19, 2025.

Five nations sent their full team of four men and four women while Vietnam sent four men only and Myanmar two men only. A total of 26 men and 24 women will be competing. They are accompanied by a 27 officials and coaches making a total participation of 77.

Dr Danny Santos, Tournament Director kicked off the meeting by welcoming the team officials and conducted a roll-call of those present. He introduced members of the technical committee comprising of Mr John Janawicz, Technical Delegate responsible for ball registration and lane maintenance.

Other members included Mr Arun Supateeravet, tournament manager, Mr Napadol Chantanoo, venue manager and Mr Kichael Seymour, CEO of IBF and Ms Suwalai Satrulee, secretary general of Thai Tenpin Bowling Association and Vice President of ABF whom are also members of the Jury of Appeal.

Athletes will compete in three events, namely Singles, Doubles and 4-player Team event. The top 8 at the end of their 6-games qualifying rounds for the Singles and Doubles will advance for the Quarter-finals. Only two athletes from each nation can qualify.

The top 4 at the end of the 6-games Team qualifying rounds will advance to the Semi-finals. Winners of the semi-finals will face each other in the gold medal finals. All the Quarter-finals, Semi-finals and Final will be played over one game.

Official practice will be held later today commencing at 1.00pm local time for a tow-hours session. Competition will commence with the Men's Singles on December 14, and the Women's Singles on December 15. The Men's Doubles and Women's Doubles will be contested on December 16 and 17. The 4-payer Team event, over two blocks of 3 games each will be held on December 18. The Semi-finals and Final will end the games on December 19.
