26th August, Jakarta: Malaysia set course for a second gold at the 25th Asian Junior Bowling Championships after topping the Girl's Team of 4 first block while Singapore Team A and Singapore Team B finished first and third in the Boy's division.

Doubles gold medalists, Nur Syahira Amani and Helena Bte Jamal teamed up with Khaira Nur Aleesya and Ayra Deliza Bte Mohd Kamarul Azizi got off to a superb start with 751 in their opening game to tie with Philippines' Rachel Marie Nedamo, Karmella Denmari Yap, Franchesca Nicole Togores and Charlize Anne Calamba for the lead.

The Malaysia quartet added a sizzling 804 in their second game to firm up their lead. Singapore's Carine Foo Rui Qi, Rachel Foo Shi Ern, Shannon Lee Hyi En and Nura Salsabila Zulkifli added a good second game of 750 to trail the leader in second.

Despite ending with just a moderate 654, Malaysia held on to finish atop the pack with 2209. Singapore fought on gallantly by settled for second with 2173, 36 pins behind. Philippines took third spot with 2137, another 36 pins adrift.

In the boy's division, Hong Kong Team A had a dream start with 888 to lead Singapore Team A by 36 pins. Singapore's Darius See, Izz Irfan Ismail, Lucas Goh and Kaelan Lim rolled a stunning 926 to take over the lead after the second game.

Ethan Leung, Izac Mong, Jovi Ma and Singles silver medalist, Dylan Lam managed 839 to slip 15 pins behind the new leader. Hong Kong Team B of Ocean Yeung, Julian Ho, Jeremy Lau and Jaden Tsui shot 808 and 886 to take up third.

Singapore A ended the first block with another massive game of 908 to lead with 2686 total. Doubles gold medalist, Talal Ali Al Marri, Abdulla Al Dosary, Masaed Al Muraikhi and Abdulrahman Al Doseri stormed home to snatch second position with 2510.

Singapore Team B's Gareth Goh, Gautier Tan, Zavier Ng and Thaddaeus Mok also finished strongly to clinch third position with 2497. Malaysia ended well to finish fourth with 2490 while early pace-setters, Hong Kong A and Hong Kong B slipped down to fifth and sixth positions.
