The Philippines Tenpin Bowling Congress is organising the PBAP-Storm International Invitational Classic from the 16th - 21st May, 2000 at Pearl Bowling Center, Manila. The championship is a classic format and is open to all bowlers of FIQ-WTBA Asian Zone affiliates. Bowlers will be bowling 24 games in the qualifying round divided into 3 blocks of 8 games in three days. The top 12 in each division, Men's Open, Ladies' Open and Classified will advance to the Quarter-finals in which another 6 games will be bowled. The top 6 bowlers will advance to the Semifinal round where another 6 games will be bowled. The top 3 bowlers will compete in the stepladder finals. There will be no carry-forward of scores from the quarter-finals, semifinals or finals. The stepladder finals for the 3rd and 2nd place will be determined by a one knock out game. The format to determine the champion will be a one game advantage and if the 1st placed bowler wins the game, he/she will be decalred the champion. If the challenger wins, a sudden-death final game will decide the champion. In case of a tie for the 12th spot in the quarter-finals, the 6th spot in the semifinals and the 3rd spot for the stepladder finals, a one-game roll-off will be bowled. In case of a tie in the positions in the quarter-finals, semifinals and the finals, the high-low rule will apply to determine the ranking of the bowler. Only games in the previous block rolled will be used for this rule. The classified division and ladies division will have the following handicap: Male Average Female Average Handicap 180-190 185 and above 0 170-179 171-184 5 169 and below 170 and below 10 All averages must be certified and will be based on the country's current bowling averages. The format for the open division is scratch total pinfalls. |
