Quartet makes Doubles semi-finals shootout

14th July, Incheon: Czech Republic's Ondrej Trojek and Lukas Jelinek won all their matches in Group A to advance to the 2024 IBF World Youth Championships Boy's Doubles Semi-finals joined Slovakia's Martin Malcho and Simon Jaros in second while Max Lorenz-Paul Purps of Germany and Jacob Bockstie-Brandon Bohn finished one-two in Group A.

Trojek and Jelinek was the only pair in the Boy's Matchplay Rounds winning all their seven matches contested and totaled 21 points and 1675 pinfalls in Group A. Martin Malcho and Simon Jaros of Slovakia won five out of the seven matches for 15 points and 1423 pinfalls.

The first Swedish pair of Alex Joki and Robin Noberg and the second Saudi pair of Ahmed Abualreesh and Bandar Al Yabah both totaled 12 points a piece but missed the cut.

In Group B, Max Lorenz and Singles finalist, Paul Purps of Germany took top spot winning six matches for an 18 points haul and 1581 pinfalls. Jacob Bockstie and Brandon Bohn of USA won five matches for a 15 point haul with 1525 pinfalls.


Boy's Doubles title match between Germany and USA

Meanwhile, the first semi-final match in the Boy's division saw the tie going into the third match. Jacob Bockstie and Brandon Bohn defeated the Czech Republic's Ondrej Trojek and Lukas Jelinek, 236-201. In the second match, the Czechs responded by winning 223-212.

But USA sealed their win with a 210-194 victory to book their spot in the final. In the other semi-final match between Germany and Slovakia, Max Lorenz and Paul Purps had a convincing victory 242-141 and 238-234 for a 2-0 win to secure their place in the final.

Germany will meet USA in the final, scheduled for July 18. Competion will now shift to the Team Qualifying rounds starting with the girls later today. The boys will contest their Team qualifying round over 10 games tomorrow, divided into two squads
