25th June, Macau: 2024 Formosa Classic champion, Yuki Murahama and two-time Macao-China Open champion, Tomoyuki Sasaki of Japan ruled the Men's Open Masters qualifying standings of the 2025 Macao-China International Open with a one-two finish while Hong Yun Seo of KNSU, Korea topped the Women's Open division.

Sasaki had led the Men's Open with 1408 since Sunday 23rd June with 1408 but lost top spot to fellow-countrymen, Murahama when the latter took over the lead with 1417. Sasaki rolled 747 and 661 and Murahama downed 710 and 707. Two-time Macao-China Open first runner (2018 and 2012), Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong, China made the top bracket in third with 1377.

Ex-international, Annop Arromsaranon of Thailand missed the top 3 spots in fourth with 1325 while Tony Wong of Hong Kong, China rounded out the top five with 1307. Stanley Lau of Hong Kong, Zhu Jun He of China, Ivan Tse of Hong Kong and Han Seong Min of KNSU, Korea finished sixth to ninth positions in the overseas pool.

2019 Macao-China Open first runner-up, Lee Tak Man of Macao National Team, topped the local pool with with 1345 followed by defending champion, Lei Hok Hin in second with 1333.

Lam Iek Long completed the top 3 with 1316. Chau Lei Man, Tang Shing Hei and Choi Hou In made up the six local pool qualifiers. Newcomer, Noah Taimanglo of Guam headed the mixed pool with 1272 while the cut in eighth position went to Au Hon Chon of Macau, China with 1243. The top 3 highest local qualifiers and the top 3 highest overseas qualifiers will earn a bye and automatically advance to Round 2 finals.

Local qualifiers positioned 4 to 6, overseas qualifiers positioned 4 to 9, next 8 highest qualifiers from the mixed pool, the top 3 from the Desperado squad and the defending champion will contest the 8-games Round 1 finals on June 27.

Meanwhile in the Women's Open division, Korean National Sports University students, Hong Yun Seo, Kim Bo Ah and Paek Ye Dam occupied the top 3 spots on the overseas pool with 1324, 1307 and 1289 respectively. A fourth KNSU, Park Si Eun took fourth spot with 1229 and Anya Min Das of Agape Bowling Singapore competed the top 5.

Wong Son Ian of Macao National Team topped the local pool with 1292 ahead of team-mate, So Cheng Lam in second and 2025 IBF World Cup Team bronze medalist, Veronica De Souza making up the top 3. Kim Yeon Jin of KNSU, Korea headed the mixed pool with 1167.

The cut in ninth position in the mixed pool went to Lee Da Wun of KNSU, Korea with 1091. Local qualifiers positioned 4 to 6, overseas qualifiers positioned 4 to 7, next 9 highest qualifiers from the mixed pool and the defending champion will contest the 8-games Round 1 finals on June 27.

Qualifying rounds will continue through to June 26. The Senior and Men's Grade Masters finals will be contested on June 27 morning with the Men's and Women's Open Round 1 finals in the afternoon while the Men's Grade A and Women's Graded Masters finals in the evening.

The Youth Masters finals will be held on June 28 morning and the Men's and Women's Open Round 2 finals in the afternoon. The top 4 finishers in the Men's and Women's Open Round 2 finals will proceed to the Stepladder Shootout finals to determine this year's champions.
