3rd July, Kuching, Sarawak: USA ruled the Girl's Team qualifying round of the 2026 IBF World Youth Bowling Championships with a commanding lead ahead of Singapore in second and Korea third with the top 16 teams advancing to the Matchplay round.

Singapore set a cracking pace of the 10-game block with a scintillating 255 in their opening game to lead Czechia by 31 pins. Russia put in a superb 224 for third followed by Korea. The Singaporean quartet added another massive game of 256 to extend their lead to 71 pins.

Korea moved up to second with 218 as Russia continued to impress with 212 to remain in third. USA made up grounds to fourth after a slow start. Singapore managed 195 to remain in the lead with Russia continued their fine effort to move into a surprise second.

Despite managing only 182 in the fourth game, Singapore continued to lead the pack albeit with USA in hot pursuit with Korea in a distant third. USA rolled 213 in the fifth game and reduced the gap to just 17 pins as Singapore downed 192.


Girl's Team qualifying leader, USA

USA added another strong game of 237 in the sixth to take over the lead as Singapore slip into second, 28 pins adrift. Korea kept pace with the leading duo in third as Czechia and Russia faded off.

There was no stopping the Americans as they romped home to win the qualifying round in pole with 2145. Singapore finished second with 2047, 98 pins behind. Korea took third position with 2018 while Malaysia stormed home to finish fourth with 1999.

Mexico, who were in the bottom three before the final match, ended with 194 to squeeze into the next round in 16th position with 1735. The biggest upset was the fancied Sweden missing the cut by 24 pins in 17th position.

The top 16 advanced to the head-to-head Matchplay round over seven matches with 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 pins for a loss divided into two groups of eight teams. The top 2 at the end of the round will proceed to the semi-finals shootout.
