27th June, Macau: Macau Nationals, Tang Shing Hei and Chau Lei Man stole the limelight after finishing one-two in the Men's Open Round 1 finals of the 2025 Macao-China International Open while Hui Tong of Macau took second spot behind Paek Ye Dam of KNSU, Korea.

2016 AMF World Cup champion, Wang Hong Bo of China had the best start with 235 to lead Chinese Taipei's Chen Ying Shen by 8 pins followed by Thailand's Annop Arromsaranon in third ahead of Chau Lei Man of Macau and Hong Kong's Wu Siu Hong sharing fourth spot.

Wang's lead only lasted in the opening game as newcomer, Tang Shing Hei of Macau surged into the lead with 254 following his 203 opener. Wang trailed in second after rolling a decent 216 in the second game. The Taiwanese moved up to third as the Thai dropped to fourth.

The 16-year two-hander, Tang was on a roll, reeling in 222, 234, 212 and 247 to opened up a gap to 55 pins. Kim Seong Tak of KNSU was in hot pursuit keeping pace with Tang. The youngster wrapped up an impressive run with 208 and 224 to win the round with 1804.


Men's Open Round 1 top 3, Chau Lei Man, Tang Shing Hei and Annop Arromsaranon

His compatriot, Chau Lei Man stormed home to snatch second position with 1763 while Arromsaranon clinched third spot with 1698. Jason Leung of Hong Kong and Kim rounded out the top five with 1694 and 1669 respectively. Jung Woo Hyun of KNSU squeezed into the next round in 12th position with 1583.

Meanwhile, Huang Hsin Tsen of Chinese Taipei set an early pace with 234 and 193 in her first two games to lead Park Si Eun of KNSU in second. Park reduced the gap to just one pin after Huang failed to maintain her strong pace.

Defending champion, Chou Chia-Chen of Chinese Taipei fired three superb games of 208, 204 and 238 to taking over the running. Park and a second KNSU student, Lee Da Eun share second spot at the halfway mark. Chou dropped her pace to end the round in third with 1591.

Two strong games from a third KNSU, Paek Ye Dam allowed the Korean to win the round with 1598. 2025 IBF World Cup Team bronze medalist, Hui Tong stormed home to snatch second position with 1591, just seven pins adrift. Anya Min Das of Agape Bowling Academy, Singapore made the cut for the next round in 12th position with 1430.

The top 12 men and top 12 women from this round will advance to Round 2 finals to be held tomorrow, joined by the top 3 local and top 3 overseas qualifiers from the general standings for another 8 games. The top 4 men and top 4 women will proceed to the Stepladder Shootout finals.
