Qatar 2 faces Finland 1 in Boy's Doubles final

5th July, Kuching, Sarawak: Qatar took out Germany 1, 2-0 in the first semi-final match of the Boy's Doubles of the 2026 IBF World Youth Bowling Championships as Finland 1 upset the fancied USA 1, 2-0 in the other semi-final to reach the final showdown.

Talal Al Amarri and Abdulrahman Al Doseri of Qatar 2 defeated Jaden Wolff and Phil Baumeisser of Germany 1, 246-226 in the firt game of the best-of-3 semi-final. In the second game, there was nothing between the contenders and it went down to whoever struck twice in the tenth frame would win.

Qatar 2 kept their cool to knock down a crucial strike in the then and eleventh frame while Germany 1 failed to match their opponent. Qatar edged Germany 1, 220-215 for a 2-0 victory and assured themselves a well deserved spot in tomorrow's final.

Dawson Peterson and Singles bronze medalist, Landin Jordan of USA 1 looked the favourite to beat the Finihs pair of Juho Vuoppola and Roni Leskinen in the other semi-final match. But the Finns surprised USA with a 231-227 win.


Qatar 2 faces on Finland 1 in the Boy's Doubles final

Both the contenders had two opened frames each but Finland 1 recovered better than the American pair ending the second game with a 203-182 win, earning a spot in the final against the Qataris tomorrow.

In the Girl's semi-finals, Nicole Layrisse and Maja Engberg of Sweden 2 found the Malaysian pair of Adelia Nur Irwan Syzalee and Adania Mohd Redzwan a handful going down, 192-226 in the first game. And when Malaysia 2 opened up a huge gape after stringing together multiple strikes, the Swedish pair had lost their way.

Malaysia 1 easily defeated Sweden 2, 257-144 for a 2-0 victory to confirm their spot in the final. In the other semi-final, Erin Klemencic and Elizabeth Teuber of USA 1 picked up a win in the first game, 243-199 against Emma Palermaa and Stella Lokfrors of Finland 1.

The American pair had another easy win over the Finns, 220-189 for a 2-0 victory to take on the Malaysian in the final. Sweden 2 and Finland 1 were awarded a bronze medal each after losing the semi-finals.
