25th June, Macau: Macau China national team member, Wong Son Ian took over the lead of the Women's Open Local Pool qualifying table of the 2026 Macao China International Open Bowling Championships while Zoe Dias Ma topped the Men's Open Local Pool on the final day of qualifying rounds.

Wong, who was third overnight, notched up an improved 3-game series of 740 to take her 6-game aggregate to 1453, moved into the lead. Overnight leader and 2026 Malaysian Open second runner-up, Veronica Dias De Souza settled for second with 1445.

Che Weng Si claimed third position with 1415. The top 3 highest Local Pool qualifiers will automatically advance to Round 2 finals. Singapore women took all the top 3 spots in the Overseas Pool with Colleen Pee remaining firmly in the lead with 1519.

Arianne Tay and Ning Tay occupied second and third spots with 1504 and 1503 respectively. Park Si Eun of KNSU/Korea headed the Mixed Pool with 1442 ahead of her team-mate, Lee Da Eun in second with 1441. The final cut for Round 1 finals went to another KNSU Korean, Kim Seung Jun with 1370.

Meanwhile in the Men's Open division, Zoe Dias Ma and Chan Tak Seng were the top 2 National Team Seeded qualifiers with 1579 and 1544 total respectively. 2024 champion, Lei Hok Hin remained in the lead of the Local Pool with 1600 followed by Lee Tak Man and Tam Wai Chong in second and third.

The top 3 highest Local Pool qualifiers will automatically advance to Round 2 finals. 16-year-old Lau Pak Man of Hong Kong, remained the top qualifier with 1660 and occupying top spot in the Overseas Pool. Jomond Chia of Singapore claimed second spot with 1646 and Wu Siu Hong of Hong Kong in third with 1632.

The top 3 highest Overseas Pool qualifiers will also automatically advance to Round 2 finals. 2023 champion, James Lui Chin Hung headed the Mixed pool with 1584 while the cut in eighth position went to Kang Jae Hee of KNSU/Korea with 1575. Lan Shao Kang of Chinese Taipei missed the cut by just three pins with 1572.

The 24 Men's Open Masters qualifiers and the top 18 Women's Open Masters qualifiers will bowl 8 games in Round 1 finals schedule at 1:00pm, June 26.


Top National Team Seeded qualifier, Zoe Dias Ma

The top 12 Men and top 9 Women with the highest pinfalls will advance to Round 2 finals on June 27 for another 8 games, joined by the six Men's Open and six Women's Open Seeded qualifiers. The top 6 Men and top 6 Women will proceed to the Stepladder Shootout finals to determine this year's champions. A Victory Banquet hosted by Macau China Bowling Association will be held in the evening.
